Living Proof Live

This past weekend my college friend Kiley and I attended a Living Proof Live conference in Lincoln, NE. It was everything I had hoped it would be and more.

I just finished going through Beth Moore's "Breaking Free" Bible study with a group of ladies at my church. I have a great respect for Beth and her teaching so when the opportunity came up to go to this live event I was very excited.

The praise and worship music was awesome, and the message was very powerful. It was exactly what I needed to hear at that moment, it was like God was speaking directly to me in many ways. It was a very spiritually refreshing time for me. I would recommend it to anyone.

She is coming to Kansas City next year and, if it works out, I would love to take a group. I don't know the dates yet, but as soon as I do I will post them. Keep it in mind if you are interested in going.

Goggles

Clae found Kirby's goggles in the swimming tub. He was being SO FUNNY with them on. I was laughing SO hard and the harder I laughed the funnier he decided to be!

In this one he's chanting "here comes the hammer shark, here comes the hammer shark" At this point I could hardly contain my laughter!

And of course Lydia had to get in on action. (don't tell her, but she wasn't nearly as funny!)

Another Lydia-is-being-way-too-quiet moment!

Stuff

Just some random things we've been doing...

Last week when it was still nice out we went swimming at "auntie" Barb's pool.

This was the first weekend in SIX weeks that we haven't had any plans for the weekend. We still managed to keep quite busy but we got a lot done at our house too.

We got Netflix on the Wii, so Friday night we had a movie night and camp-out in the living room. I stayed up until 1:00 watching movies. DUMB! But I LOVE movies, I just couldn't help myself.

In the middle of the movie, Clae got up looking for Lydia's vacuum, "I need to vacuum, it's a mess in here." Do not ask me where that came from.

Last night I was in my bedroom doing some things and I suddenly had a Lydia-is-being-way-too-quiet moment. I've had a few of these in the past and it is never good news (fingernail polish on the rug, for example). I went in search of her and at first glance was relieved to find her playing nicely on the couch. Oh, wait, that's my makeup bag on her lap. Oh, wait, that's my mascara she's playing with.

Aaaand this was the result...

Stay at Home Moms

I did not write this, but I thought it was HILARIOUS and SO true so I had to share...

A man came home from work and found his three children outside, still in their pajamas, playing in the mud, with empty food boxes and wrappers strewn all around the front yard. The door of his wife's car was open, as was the front door to the house and there was no sign of the dog. Proceeding into the entry, he found an even bigger mess. A lamp had been knocked over, and the throw rug was wadded against one wall. In the front room the TV was loudly blaring a Cartoon channel, and the family room was strewn with toys and various items of clothing. In the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, breakfast food was spilled on the counter, the fridge door was open wide, dog food was spilled on the floor, a broken glass lay under the table, and a small pile of sand was spread by the back door. He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of clothes, looking for his wife. He was worried she might be ill, or that something serious had happened. He was met with a small trickle of water as it made its way out the bathroom door. As he peered inside he found wet towels, scummy soap and more toys strewn over the floor. Miles of toilet paper lay in a heap and toothpaste had been smeared over the mirror and walls. As he rushed to the bedroom, he found his wife still curled up in the bed in her pajamas, reading a novel. She looked up at him, smiled, and asked how his day went. He looked at her bewildered and asked, 'What happened here today?' She again smiled and answered, 'You know every day when you come home from work and you ask me what in the world do I do all day?' 'Yes,' was his incredulous reply. She answered, 'Well, today I didn't do it.

Fresh Strawberries

We got to go pick fresh strawberries from Nanny's garden! Yummy!

I was planning to make a pie or something out of them, but the kids have already eaten almost all of them. Oh well, at least they're healthy.
